Cryptochrome 1a of tomato mediates long-distance signaling of soil water deficit

چکیده
Although the blue light photoreceptors cryptochromes mediate expression of genes related to reactive oxygen species, whether cryptochrome 1a (cry1a) regulates local and long-distance signaling water deficit in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is unknown. Thus cry1a mutant its wild-type (WT) were reciprocally grafted (WT/WT; cry1a/cry1a; WT/cry1a; cry1a/WT; as scion/rootstock) or grown on their own roots (WT cry1a) under irrigated conditions. Plant growth, pigmentation, oxidative stress, relations, stomatal characteristics leaf gas exchange measured. WT plants grew similarly conditions, whereas had less root biomass length higher tissue malondialdehyde concentrations deficit. Despite greater maintained chlorophyll carotenoid drying soil. Lower density likely increased relative content (RWC). In plants, scion genotype largely determined shoot accumulation irrespective chimeric soil, rootstocks RWC while photosynthesis scions. Manipulating CRY1a may enhance plant drought tolerance by altering pigmentation during soil via effects.

Light signaling to the zebrafish circadian clock by Cryptochrome 1a.
Zebrafish tissues and cells have the unusual feature of not only containing a circadian clock, but also being directly light-responsive. Several zebrafish genes are induced by light, but little is known about their role in clock resetting or the mechanism by which this might occur. Here we show that Cryptochrome 1a (Cry1a) plays a key role in light entrainment of the zebrafish clock. Intensity ...
متن کاملEffects of salinity and irrigation water management on soil and tomato in drip irrigation
In this research, the effects of irrigation with saline and fresh water through drip irrigation method and using two irrigation management strategies: M1, M2 (M1 is irrigation with fresh water in alternative with saline water, M2 is saline water in first half time of each irrigation event and fresh water in the second half), on the yield, water productivity (WP), soil salinity, plant height...
متن کاملLong-Distance Transport of Prosystemin Messenger RNA in Tomato
Main conclusion: The transcripts of transgenic prosystemin (PS) gene are mobile and the PS mRNA can be translated into protein in tomato and tobacco plants. Systemin (SYS) and its precursor protein, prosystemin (PS), are upstream components of the wound-induced signaling pathway in tomato. Although the mobile signal(s) for wound responses has been the subject of considerable research, its ident...

In order to study the effect of physiological and biochemical responses of tomato cv. Rio Grande to foliar spray of Megafol under water deficit stress, an experiment was carried out in a split plot based on randomized complete block design with three replicates in Research Filed of university of Zanjan as during 2015. Treatments consisted arrangement of three irrigation levels (starting irrigat...
متن کاملChemical Magnetoreception: Bird Cryptochrome 1a Is Excited by Blue Light and Forms Long-Lived Radical-Pairs
Cryptochromes (Cry) have been suggested to form the basis of light-dependent magnetic compass orientation in birds. However, to function as magnetic compass sensors, the cryptochromes of migratory birds must possess a number of key biophysical characteristics. Most importantly, absorption of blue light must produce radical pairs with lifetimes longer than about a microsecond. Cryptochrome 1a (g...
